War Crimes

I've just finished reading a war novel. And here's my take on it.....(the war thing that is)

We've sent fathers, brothers, sons and husbands to war. Now we're sending mothers, sisters, daughters and wives. We pray that they come back alive. By some miracle if they are found to be alive, we pray that they are not injured seriously...we pray that they still have all their body parts intact. If by some other miracle that happens, then we pray that their mental faculties are intact. If that happens, we pray that they do not go through Post Traumatic Stress disorder or some other such thing.

Say that happens too, then what. What have our wartime soldiers come back to? Poverty because the fields were not ploughed. No investments were made in infrastructure, education was neglected and disease was rampant.

Never heard a God who wanted that for his ppl.........

Sending this thought into the cyber void.....

Ignorance is bliss

Hi guys.....

Ever stop to think that there r so many things that u would rather not know about. Take me for eg....I had gone with my mum n dad to a hospital in Mangalore for some x rays that mum needed. There we met an old family friend. Guys, that was the most excruciating 1/2 hr I have ever spent, even counting the births of my 2 kids.

Uncle X spent the whole hour discussing his prostate glands, his haemorhhoids and (horror of horrors!!) his enema treatment. Gross!!! I really did not need to know that........

I dont know how many hours it takes to reach the moon, I dont know how many seeds r there in my pomegranate, I dont know what crap goes into my fav Chicken McGrill, (C'mon Ron McDon, D'ya really think I'm gonna b put off by that elaborate calorie chart on my tray??? Hah), I dont know if taking out an olive off every tray in the salad of an Air India aircraft would actually save $40,000 a year, I am blissfully unaware of the actual amount of rubbish that my neighbourhood paani puri walla uses to make that murky liquid that comprises the paani in my paani puri....
that's fine....

But there r some things that I do need to know. like.....
1. How is it that Singapore, a country that receives the same amt of rains like us, is politically just as old as us, happens to have roads without a single pothole....
2. How is it that babus and netas need a "salaam maalik" before any work gets done, but we pay such little attention to our teachers and public health workers.

P.S. Ever notice how it makes your day when a very good friend gives u really exciting news abt changes happening in their life???? Congratulations good friend!!!!!!!!!!!
